Mbappé’s Teammates Sniff Out Solution for Nose Troubles

France forward, Kylian Mbappé, could be spending some time on the sidelines, but his teammates know how to make the best of a snotty situation.

The 25-year-old striker broke his nose during France’s 2024 Euro 1-0 victory over Austria in Germany on Monday, 17 June; he attempted a header but found his face connecting with opponent Kevin Danso’s shoulder instead.

Mbappé received immediate medical attention on the field before he was taken to Düsseldorf hospital for further examination. According to reports, the break was confirmed but he will not require surgery.

Despite the misfortune, the Real Madrid player still seemed to be in good spirits as the next day he tweeted, “Any ideas for masks?”, with a couple of comical emojis.

The French Football Federation confirmed that they are looking into the possibility of sourcing the protective gear for Mbappe’s face however; his teammates seem to have a quicker solution.

A video was later shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, of the soccer star unboxing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle mask to the howls of his colleagues.

France is scheduled to take on the Netherlands on Friday, 21 June, but it’s unclear whether Mbappé will be fit to play.
